Chief Jonathan
R. Brickett started with the fire department in 1979 as a call firefighter.
In November 1984 the Amesbury Fire Department hired Jon as a full
time firefighter. Working for the department Jon became interested
in the emergency medical services obtaining his Basic-EMT in 1985
and continuing on to receive his I-EMT in 1990. Over the years on
the department he came to notice the importance of EMS in the fire
service which sent him back to school to receive his certification
as an EMT-Paramedic in 1998 at the New England EMS Institute of
Manchester NH.
Over the years he has persued
other interests in the fire service including, the technical rescue
team, educated by the Barnstable Fire Training Academy, Search &
Rescue Advanced Diver, Local 1783 union president for close to 6
years. At the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg MD he was educated
as a Fire/Arson Investigator, and he holds an associates degree
in Fire Science at the North Shore Community College and is presently
attending Salem State College for his bachelors degree in Fire Administration.
Appointed in 2008 he now serves as Chief.
