The internship program has been serving the Amesbury School System for years allowing students to experience the job of fire fighter. Any high school student is eligible to take advantage of this program and experience.

The internship not only includes experience in fire fighting, but also in teamwork, leadership skills, and trust. Some former interns have learned how to repell down buildings, how to operate a firehose, and get to ride on the trucks. Some former students of this program are currently serving as call fire fighters on the department.
