| The
Amesbury Fire Department keeps all of their equipment in top working
order at all times to serve the town of Amesbury with some of the
most efficient services around. In this business there are no second
chances to save a life, the first time is the only time, because nothing
can replace the lives and memories that can be lost in a fire.
Our current fire
protection apparatus includes Engine 1, 2, 3, Ladder 1, Forestry
2 and the air boat. Engine 1 is used as the primary pumper at a
fire scene, Engine 2 is kept at the Elm Street Station and is used
as a back up pump for large fires, and Engine 3 is used as the secondary
pump on scene. Ladder 1 is used to reach heights of up to 100 feet,
it can also help to put water on a higher floor. The Forestry truck
and air boat are used for smaller brush fires.
