The Dive Team of Amesbury Fire was started in 1982 to protect the community if a person was in trouble in the many lakes, ponds and rivers in Amesbury.

The Town of Amesbury has an Airboat equipped and ready for use in all seasons, allowing rescue even if the rivers are covered in ice. The Ambulances are set up with diving equipment in case someone is in need of assistance. Also the Fire Department's Forrestry vehicle is equipped with equipment.

There are four members of the Fire Department on the team with members in the surrounding communities assisting.
